The Musician's Mind

What happens between the moments that matter?

Most support stops exactly when you need it most. This doesn't.

A weekly article. A monthly live call with David.

And an AI coach available 24/7 — trained on 35+ years of orchestral experience and 1,500+ hours of coaching.

For any instrument.

In any language.

The Musician's Virtual Coach — see it working in real time.

Three conversations. Unscripted. This is what 24/7 support actually looks like.

An audition-night spiral. A practice room that stopped working.

A sample conversation in German, Spanish, and Finnish.

Six minutes. This is what 24/7 support actually looks like.

The gap no one talks about

You know this moment.

The structure disappears. The practice room feels heavier. The internal critic gets louder.

Most support is designed for peaks — the weeks before an audition, the duration of a programme. But your nervous system doesn't take breaks between performances.

The Musician's Mind is support that doesn't stop when the moment does.

🎼

Orchestra audition

Behind the screen. One shot. Everything on the line.

🏆

Competition

Jury, pressure, comparison. The mental game is everything.

🎯

Trial period

Weeks of being watched. Consistency under sustained pressure.

The real challenge...

You know the music. You've put in the hours. In the practice room, it's there: the sound, the intention, the musicality you've built over years of work.

But something happens when the stakes go up. Not every time, but enough times that you know it's a pattern. The arm that tightens. The mind that starts watching itself. The version of you that walks in and plays smaller than you are.

What is The Musician's Mind?

It's not a course. It's not a programme you complete.

It's ongoing contact with the work , structured enough to give you something every week, flexible enough to go where you are.

Every week, a new article — a real musical situation, worked through with the David's method.

Every month, a live call with David — real questions, real cases, no scripts.

Every day, the Musician's Virtual Coach — available at midnight, between rehearsals, when you need to think something through and David isn't there.

Here's what you get

1. Weekly In-Depth Article

Each week, one real musical situation — worked through honestly with the OASF method. Not theory. Content you use.

You won't just read it. You'll use it.

2. Monthly Live Call with David

Once a month, live. You bring what's actually happening — a real situation, a pattern you can't break, a question you've been sitting with.

David works with it directly, in real time.

3. The Musician's Virtual Coach — 24/7

See below. This deserves its own section.

The Musician's Virtual Coach

It's not a bot. It's David — available when David isn't.

Not a general AI.

Not ChatGPT with a music prompt.

Built from David's methodology, 35+ years of orchestral experience, and 1,500+ hours of coaching.

It thinks the way David thinks. It asks the questions David would ask. It understands what a musician is actually going through — the physical tension before an audition, the spiral that starts in the practice room, the internal noise that gets louder the night before something important.

It works in any language. For any instrument. Conducting. Voice. It doesn't matter.

Even David himself is sometimes surprised by how accurately it responds.

It's there when:

— It's 11pm and your audition is tomorrow

— The same passage has been getting worse for an hour

— Something happened in a rehearsal and you need to process it before tomorrow

— You want to think something through but can't wait for the monthly call

There is no other tool like this in the music world. Not because of the technology — but because of what it was trained on.

Access is unlimited. Use it as often as you need.

The O.P.E.R.A. Method
only available here

Of everything in the SAA,

the OPERA Method is the piece that creates the deepest shift.

And it's the only place you can access it.

  • The OPERA Method

An stress management practice adapted from MBSR — Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction — specifically for classical musicians.

This is the difference between knowing about the nervous system and actually training it. Twenty to thirty minutes a day. Thirty days. A completely different relationship with pressure by the time you perform.

Hi, I'm David

I'm a professional violinist — 35+ years of orchestral experience at the highest level, currently playing with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. I'm also faculty at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and an ICF PCC-certified coach with over 1,500 hours working specifically with musicians on performance under pressure.

I've spent most of my career doing this work on stage, then learning to name what actually helps, then teaching it. OASF is the result of that — a methodology built from the inside of this world.

The Musician's Mind exists because the work doesn't stop between programmes.

I've coached musicians through the peaks. I've also seen what happens in the valleys — the weeks when no audition is coming, when motivation drops, when the relationship with the instrument gets complicated. That's exactly when having ongoing, structured support matters most.

This is what I built it for.

What musicians say about working with David

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have an audition coming up?

No. The Musician's Mind is not preparation for a specific moment. It's support for the ongoing relationship with your instrument, your practice, and your performance under pressure — whether or not there's a deadline on the horizon.

How much time does it take each week?

One article, about 10 minutes to read — but designed to be worked with, not just read. The monthly call is 60–75 minutes. The Virtual Coach is available whenever you need it, for as long or as short as the moment requires.

What is the Musician's Virtual Coach exactly?

It's an AI built specifically on David's methodology, materials and experience — not a general chatbot. It thinks and responds the way David would. It works in any language, for any instrument, at any hour. Unlimited access is included in your membership.

Is this for advanced or professional musicians only?

It's for any musician who is serious about their relationship with performance under pressure — whether that's conservatory level, professional, or somewhere in between. The method works across instruments, contexts, and stages of career.

Can I cancel?

Monthly plan: cancel any time. Annual plan: billed once per year. No long-term commitment beyond the billing cycle you're in.

How is this different from the OASF programme?

OASF is a 12-month coaching programme — structured, intensive, with 1:1 and group coaching at its core. The Musician's Mind is ongoing monthly support: lighter, more flexible, and designed for the space between major commitments. It's also a natural way to stay connected to the work after completing OASF.

Is this for a specific instrument?

No. The Musician's Virtual Coach and all content work for any instrument, voice, and conducting. The method is about the musician, not the repertoire.
